Hammer Athletic is excited to launch our new strength and power program specific to combat sports. If you train and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai or any form of Martial Arts this strength and power program is designed for you!

A specific combat sport strength and power program that will provide the strength foundation for you to be able to produce high elements of power and support the development of conditioning when executing your respective techniques. Having a high strength and power capacity will not only give you an advantage over your next opponent or training rival but it also goes along way to be able to train consistently and keep your body injury free. We are avid believers in strong things don’t break, the stronger we are the less likely we are to get injured and that means more time in the in the Academy working on your technique and conditioning, so you are fight ready for upcoming competition and the week-to-week grind of training in combat sports.

In this program our goal is to get you as strong as possible whilst maintaining your desired weight for fighting. The emphasis will be on strength to weight ratio’s getting the most out of you with the blueprint you already have. Additionally, having a high strength capacity has been shown to assist with conditioning and recovery during and after tough training sessions and in between matches on competition days.

To do this we are incredibly excited to announce, we have teamed up with a combat sport expert in James Moran (Jimmy) who is a university qualified strength and conditioning coach working with the North Queensland Cowboys. Jimmy is a 2nd degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt with 16 years of training and competition experience not only in combat sports but also 10 years’ experience in professional rugby league through his role as a specialist in contact and wrestle. He has worked extensively with combat athletes in MMA through his role at the Gamebred MMA academy in Brisbane running their S&C Program. Additionally, Jimmy brings over a wealth of experience in working in the NRL and knowledge to take your performance to the next level. Jimmy will team up with Coach Matt Ham. Matt has been a Strength and Conditioning coach for 21 years and has his Masters in Sports Science (Strength and Conditioning). He, over the years has also has an array of experience with combat athletes working with 2 Australian boxing representatives for the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games.


  • Two strength and power sessions 60mins
  • Tuesday and Thursday 630pm


  • $50 per week
